Riding for the Disabled Association NSW

Acronym:
RDA

RDA provides horse and pony riding for children and adults with a disability, subject to a medical consent form being provided.Horse riding provides a freedom of mobility and achievement not always otherwise possible. A four-legged friend enables a person with a disability to enjoy the smells, sights and sounds of a bush trail and affords a pleasurable exercise which aids co-ordination and balance, stimulates the mind and circulation, improves tone and muscle relaxation. Groups are formed at various riding schools and by individual people. These schools and people supply ponies, time and locations for use by schools and organisations for the person with a disability. Riding instructors, therapists and other volunteer helpers ensure the maximum safety of the rider. Helpers, too, benefit by active participation in the rider's sheer visual enjoyment.
